Serving the residents of Middleburg Heights, Middleburg Heights Food Pantry is one of the few client choice pantries in northern Ohio. Clients shop as they would in a grocery store and are able to follow their own dietary restrictions and preferences.
In recent summers we have sent teams to the Southern Ohio, Mississippi, Grand Rapids Michigan, West Virginia, Virginia Beach, and Erie PA.
The Nehemiah Mission of Cleveland rebuilds the lives and homes of the physically and fiscally challenged of Cleveland by providing services that improve living environments in order to sow seeds of hope for individuals and neighborhoods.
The pantry is open Mondays 9am – 12pm, Wednesdays 1-4pm, and Thursdays 5-7pm. The pantry serves those that are less fortunate in Parma Heights by providing fresh produce, non-perishable food, and household supplies.
Our prayer shawl ministry makes prayer shawls for distribution not only to our members, but to others recommended to the Pastor and members. Prayer shawls have been distributed throughout the United States and across the world.
The Global United Methodist Church runs this not-for-profit international humanitarian aid organization providing relief from hunger and disasters, and teaching peace. Through UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief), United Methodists across the world help to rebuild shattered lives, strengthen self-sufficiency, and encourage partnerships.
Our Sunday morning worship service has a traditional outline which includes: gathering, proclamation and response, and sending forth. Offered at 11:00am on Sunday mornings, we have chancel choir and other special music, time of prayer, and a message from the pastor.
Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these. (Matthew 19:14)
Where is God on Sunday morning? Of course, God is everywhere. We know that God is enthroned in the praises of his people. (Psalm 22:3) But did you know that God is back in the church nursery? To learn more about the Pleasant Hills Nursery, visit our Sunday Morning Nursery Services page or click here.
Children have fun learning the stories of Jesus, stories include the Good Samaritan, the prodigal son and the Greatest Commandment. They learn through watching the story on a video, reading the story in the Bible and talking about what the story means in their lives at home and at school. Children meet during the traditional Sunday School hour, 9-10, and during StoryTellers. With the exception of Communion Sundays when we all worship together, children leave worship after the children's moment for StoryTellers where we pray, we read the Bible, we talk about the Story, we do a craft or a game all related to the theme of the day. Infants through kindergarten meet in the nursery/childcare where they also learn the stories of Jesus and do crafts. First graders through Fifth graders meet together. 6th graders are in the Youth Group. Our children participate in community projects such as making cards for shut-ins, collecting items for hunger centers and putting together health kits for UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief). If you have any questions, please ask Rev. Linda.
Pleasant Hills Church sponsors Cub Scout Pack 636 and Boy Scout Troop 636. Membership in the Cub Pack is open to boys in grades one through five. Boys may join the Scout Troop after completing the first semester of the fifth grade or at the age of 11. Both units have members from many communities and are always looking to welcome new members.
The Pleasant Hills Youth Group is a very active organization that welcomes all youth in grades 7 through 12. The Youth Group is actively involved in volunteer work and opportunities to grow in faith in fellowship together.
Pleasant Hills participates in the mission of the United Methodist Church by creating disciples of Jesus Christ who are becoming more like Jesus so that they can join Jesus in changing the world. One of the ways we become more like Jesus is by learning about Jesus. We do this best by participating in Sunday School, Bible Study and small groups.
Bring your bible and discuss what it means to us today. Each class is a stand alone lesson so feel free to join us for a single Sunday or every week.
The Pleasant Hills United Methodist Women's Group (UMW) is a very active group in the church. We meet monthly either at the church or attend various field trips.
All men ages 18 and up are invited to participate in this group where all are welcome, opinions respected, and relationships are favored over personal agenda. We strive to provide a myriad of events and activities that build faith, are fun, foster friendship, and serve the wider community through mission and service. See the church calendar for events and activities.
The Pleasant Hills Young Adult Group welcomes all young adults starting at college age to participate in fellowship, mission, and education opportunities.
Pleasant Hills strives to offer various opportunities for multigenerational Christian growth open to single participants and family participation alike.
Pleasant Hills has a puppet ministry that performs as part of worship on select Sundays as well as other times including Sunday School and Sunday Nights. Puppets for God practices as part of Super Sundays and offers a unique view on Bible Stories that brings new life to the scripture for all ages. Puppeteers are generally ages 10 to adult.
